Data of Establishment:
The Prison was established in 1895. Originally named the Taipei County Hsinchu Penal Affairs House, it later changed its name to Hsinchu Juvenile Penal Affairs House in 1926. After the retrocession of Taiwan in 1945, it was renamed Taiwan Hsinchu Prison, and changed to Taiwan Hsinchu Juvenile Prison in 1948. on july , 1999 , it obtained its current official name of Taiwan Hsinchu Prison . Hsinchu Prison, Agency of Corrections, Ministry of Justice was established on January 1, 2011.
