Cooperate with the Agency of Corrections and the National Health Insurance Administration to implement the second generation national health insurance for the inmates serving prison sentence since January 1, 2013. At present, our health care is assisted by the Military Hsinchu District Hospital, Mackay Hospital Hsinchu Branch, Gaosheng Dental Clinic, Li Cheng Dental Clinic and other medical institutions. The period of support for outpatient clinics and departments are listed below.

1. Besides arranging outpatient clinics in the department of health daily, we also take good care of all inmates serving prison sentence who suffer from chronic diseases and special medical records. Besides arranging for the transfer to the ward for convalescence, we will be sending them to Hsinchu Branch of Taiwanese University Hospital, Hsinchu Branch of Mackay Memorial Hospital, Hsinchu District Hospital of the National Army and send letters to his family members to inspect the condition of the patients. If they meet the requirements of medical insurance. If they meet the provisions on medical parole, we will report to the Agency of Corrections, Ministry of Justice for medical parole.
2. Medical treatment for suspected mental patients: In order to properly care for mental patients, in addition to psychiatrists in prison, psychiatrists will be sent to Hsinchu District Hospital of the National Army for psychiatric treatment in accordance with the needs of the disease. Those who with mental disorders referred to in Article 3 of the Mental Health Act will also be transferred to Taichung Prison Medical District for treatment according to regulations. When the inmates serving prison sentence leave prison, the health and Police authority in their residence should be notified.
3. Improvement of medical equipment: In addition to the original biochemical computer instruments, electrocardiograph, computer blood cell analyzer, computer urine analyzer, computer blood pressure meter, portable emergency recovery device and other equipment, the purchase of abdominal ultrasound scanner, physiological monitor, arterial oxygen monitor, dental treatment table and X-ray machine, AED, portable oxygen machine, oxygen manufacturer, AIDS independent clinic, etc. we also strengthen emergency medical equipment to enhance the quality of medical care for inmates serving prison sentence.
4. The situation of the inpatient treatment of the inmates serving prison sentence: A medical cooperation contract was signed with the military hospital in Hsinchu and a dedicated ward (four beds) was set up in the hospital. Both surveillance system and police-civilian connection system were set up to improve the safety of inpatient care.

1. Regular CPR study and EMT-1 retraining course for the inmates serving prison sentence and teaching staff were held. 4. In order to maintain the oral mucosal health of the inmates serving prison sentence, we cooperated with the Military Hsinchu District Hospital to screen the oral cavity of the inmates serving prison sentence. We hope to strengthen the prevention and treatment of oral cancer through the concept of "early detection and early treatment."In order to maintain the physical and mental health of the inmates serving prison sentence, we have cooperated with the Military Hsinchu District Hospital to conduct outpatient smoking cessation clinics and health education courses for the Inmates serving prison sentence in order to teach them knowledge and skills of smoking cessation and improve the effectiveness of smoking cessation.

1. 4. AIDS and sexually transmitted disease advocacy: invite Catholic nun of Lourdes association, Health Bureau of Hsinchu City, North District Health Center and other experts to give the speech. Meanwhile, we will distribute the AIDS and STD promotion sheets to the inmates serving prison sentence and put up advocacy posters in the workshops. At the same time, we will arrange to broadcast the promotion with VCD video, so as to achieve the goal of prevention over treatment.
5. Health examination: the new inmates serving prison sentence will conduct the health examination in person by the special physician. And, we will conduct the health examination in the ward every quarter, arrange the outpatient treatment for the sick inmates serving prison sentence and track the treatment.
6. Health education and disease prevention advocacy include: Epidemiology, infectious diseases and new influenza prevention and control, and to teach the inmates serving prison sentence pay attention to develop individual’s good habits.
