Celebrating Christmas with Love and Joy

—Hsinchu Prison Hosts "Christmas Jubilee" for Inmates—

On December 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM, Hsinchu Prison of the Agency of Corrections, Ministry of Justice, held a "Christmas Jubilee." The event featured special guests from the New Hope Foundation and Top Church, including the beloved "Mother Wen" (Ms. Wen-Yang Mei-ying), Pastor Cheng Shun-chi, and a dedicated team of volunteers who joined the inmates for a time of celebration, sharing, and testimonies.

The ceremony opened with a speech by Hsu Li-ling, Secretary of Hsinchu Prison. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Mother Wen for her long-standing commitment to prison ministry, spreading God’s love and blessings. Secretary Hsu encouraged the inmates to "hold onto faith, carry hope, and remain full of love," assuring them that such a mindset would lead to a transformative life journey.

The event was hosted by Dr. Tseng Yang-ching and featured a high-energy opening by Taiwanese opera performer Chi Li-ju, who led the audience in a sing-along of several popular Taiwanese songs. The program also included moving life stories from well-known figures:

  • Overcoming Adversity: Famous actress Tang Ling shared her battle with cancer. She spoke on how faith and chemotherapy helped her manage her body, mind, and spirit back to health. Quoting Proverbs 17:22—"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones"—she inspired inmates by showing that life’s struggles can lead to a more radiant existence if one never gives up.

  • Service Through Healing: Golden Bell Award-winning host Chen Kai-lun recounted his recovery from tonsil cancer and the loss of his beloved mother. Following his recovery, he dedicated himself to volunteering for the "Taiwan Senior Citizens Association" in honor of his mother, giving all glory to God.

Furthermore, Sister Chen Wei-ni and Brother Lin Szu-hsien shared their personal testimonies. They described finding God at their lowest points, which brought light into their souls. They reminded the audience that by opening one’s heart, God embraces the "new creation," as promised in the Bible: "I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."

In the final portion of the event, Mother Wen and Pastor Cheng Shun-chi offered blessings, words of wisdom, and led the assembly in prayer, hoping to touch the hearts of all present. The activity, attended by 205 inmates, concluded successfully at 4:00 PM.
